….check this out people. This is cool. As most people know, I don’t really like cover albums, but this is a slightly different slant I think. From what I’ve read it’s bands covering entire albums of somebody else’s work in a day. It’s the brainchild of Beck and he describes it:
Record Club is an informal meeting of various musicians to record an album in a day. The album chosen to be reinterpreted is used as a framework. Nothing is rehearsed or arranged ahead of time. A track is put up here once a week. As you will hear, some of the songs are rough renditions, often first takes that document what happened over the course of a day as opposed to a polished rendering. There is no intention to ‘add to’ the original work or attempt to recreate the power of the original recording. Only to play music and document what happens. And those who aren’t familiar with the albums in question will hopefully look for the songs in their definitive versions.
I like this idea and am intrigued by the results. Enjoy

Good idea, and cool picture!
Yeah, think it’s a great idea and also kind of love that picture too.
Hope you got a credit for the photo!!
The record club thing is a pretty ace idea, becks hat is also good.
Hahaha Dav. Ha ha ha.
And yes, the hat is great. Makes me think it’d be a fun thing to do locally. Reinterpret other peoples albums. The Stormy Seas play Cancel the Astornauts. Or sumin like that!
That really does sound like fun, I’d be well up for that.
Maybe we should do a Trampoline night with that idea? Dunno, just a thought. Would be interesting no?
Wouldn’t have to be local bands music. Could be any album by anyone. Like Meursault doing the songs of Grandaddy or something?
would i have to wear trackie bottoms? im no for that!!
Yes you would. I’m sorry, it’s the rules!
