Top Ten of 2012 – Number 7. Pill-Oh – Vanishing Mirror

Well, this one is pretty special.  From the awesome and exciting label Kitchen comes the simply wonderful world of Pill-Oh and their stunning record ‘Vanishing Mirror’.  You should read this review of the record for a better understanding of what is going on.   Predominantly made up of piano pieces, certainly lead by the piano, there is something special about this record that is hard to pin point.  I listen to a lot of piano music, most of it fragmented, spacious, sparse.  This feels more like classical.  At times the playing is simply sublime.  So it is deservedly in the top ten for 2012 and I recommend you check it out.  As it’s by Kitchen there is much more than a simple piece of music as the whole package, with stunning photography, is something well worth owning. Check it out here.
